Tropical Hidden Paradise of East Java
Cloud forest, rain foresf, green lagoon, tropical river, sandy beaches, surf breaks: Pacitan is paradise for nature lover. This place has a lot to offer. It was my first time and first day exploring this place and i found something beautiful about Pacitan. I remember when i travelled to Thailand last year, cruising thru James Bond Island it was something exciting for me but i just recently had something way more exciting and it makes me realize how lucky i am to be born in Indonesia especially to grew up in East Java. Beyond all these beauty there is something i put a deep interest on: how this developing country can cultivate its natural beauty as its a developed country.
The trip starts from Colek River well-known as “Sungai Cokel”. Not a wide river but you will experience a truly tropical vibes when you boating around, listen to birds singing, feel the natural healing that calms your mind. The river will connect you to the ocean, from there you will enjoy a mesmerizing view which its actually lots of small islands in one concentrated area. I was speechless, as our boat suddenly became surrounded by small islets as we cruised to a spot where i can see the cristal clear water towards the dock.
It wasn’t like Thailand where beautiful sites are often crowded. The rest of the group decided to stay at the beach till the sun goes down but we continued to hike to witness the sunset up in the hill.
- Explore sungai cokel, a tropical river with coconut trees, and rainforest alive with the calls of birds.
- Cruise towards the islets and enjoy the view of Raja Ampat look alike
- Hike nature trails of viewpoint hill
- Optional sea kayaking or just chilling by the beach enjoy the sunset.
